ITZAL AKTIBOA PRIZE FOR YOUNG TALENT IN CONTEMPORARY ART 2018

February 22, 2018

We are organising once again the competition for the Itzal Aktiboa Prize for Young Talent in Contemporary Art, in collaboration with the Basque Cultural Institute and the Centre for Contemporary Art of Huarte (Navarre).

The aim of the competition is to encourage young artists and thereby contribute to the development of contemporary art in the wider Basque cultural context. The competition will be open to any artist under 40 with personal ties with the Basque Country.

The deadline for applications will be July 15, 2018. The works of the artists chosen as finalists will be presented in a group exhibition in the Prison des Evêques in Saint Jean Pied de Port during October 2018.

A cash prize of 2,000 euros will be awarded to the winner. In parallel, two artists will be invited to participate in an artist-in-residence programme for seven weeks, from January 25 to March 3 2019, at the Centre for Contemporary Art of Huarte.
