tTok: a new centre of creativity is born in Uztaritze

November 09, 2019

A new exhibition space is opening in Uztaritze thanks to the initiative of graphic artist and painter iF Matxikote, a member of the board of Itzal aktiboa.

tTok inaugurates its first exhibition this Friday, November 15, with paintings and sculptures by iF alongside the drawings of Viviane Michel and the "pig-tures" of their former art teacher, Alain Jouve, who since 2008 has dedicated his energy to forging a place for pigs in contemporary artistic aesthetics.

Located in the Purgu district of Uztaritze, close to the three restaurants in its historic centre, tTok has all the appearance of a gallery, without actually being one. "It's an artist's studio turned into an exhibition space and an opportunity to bring art and the public together," says its creator.

Thus, from time to time, artists will be invited to participate in joint exhibitions lasting one to two months. The rest of the time iF plans to exhibit his own work in this space.
