SEVEN ARTISTS CHOSEN AS FINALISTS FOR THE ITZAL AKTIBOA PRIZE

Seven artists chosen as finalists in the competition for the Itzal aktiboa Contemporary Art Prize 2018 - Taxio Ardanaz, Luis Olaso, Maite Pinto, Miriam Isasi, María Jiménez Moreno, Thomas Loyatho and Léa Vessot - will present their work in a collective exhibition during the month of October in the Prison des Évêques in Saint Jean Pied de Port.
Selected from among 34 candidates by a jury chaired by the co-director of the Centre of Contemporary Art of Huarte (Navarre), Nerea de Diego, the seven finalists represent a variety of disciplines ranging from painting to video.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday October 6 2018 to Thursday November 1 2018, daily except on Tuesdays, from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
The competition, organized by Itzal aktiboa with the support of the Basque Cultural Institute, the Departmental Council of the Pyrénées Atlantiques and the municipality of Saint Jean Pied de Port, offers a prize of 2,000 euros, to be awarded to one of the seven finalists on the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition.
