Blanca Ortiga (Hornos de Moncalvillo, La Rioja, 1984) participated last year in the competition for the Itzal Aktiboa Prize. She is working until June 30 with another artist, Miguel Alejos (Valencia, 1995), as artist in residence in the Habitación exhibition space of the Centro de Arte Contemporaneo in Huarte (Navarre).
Under the title "Got Lost in the Game" (taken from the Britney Spears song "Oops! I did it again"), the two artists are researching processes designed to break the distance between material.
"We are putting our work in crisis. We do not know if as a form of resistance or as a critical tool, but we doing it. To take hold and lift. To hold one thing up so that it supports the other, so that it does not fall, to make an effort. To hold up. Or just to rest. "
Blanca Ortiga studied political science and fine arts. She lives in Bilbao. Miguel Alejos graduated in Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia and has a master's degree in Art Research and Creation from the University of the Basque Country
