Zaloa Ipiña awarded
the Itzal aktiboa Prize 2011

Zaloa Ipiña, a young artist living and working in Bilbao, has won the Itzal aktiboa Prize for Contemporary Art for her photograph "Argi distira 7".

The photo is part of a series that she used to make a short film on the theme of colours, light and movement.

The jury appreciated the technical quality of her work, the originality of her approach and the aesthetic effect that she achieved.

The Saint Jean Pied de Port Prize was awarded to Anne-Laure Garicoix for her painting La chute d'Orlando Black, and the Nautilus Lanzarote Prize to Verónica Domingo for her series of ink drawings inspired by the architecture of Bilbao.
