In this exhibition, Josette Dacosta presents a selection of recent paintings vibrating with colour and movement, interspersed with works from earlier periods.
The title of the exhibition is an allusion to Edward Elgar's 15-movement symphonic work, the Enigma Variations, which builds on a theme born from an improvised melody to create a series of 14 variations.
Josette Dacosta's approach, though less systematic, draws similarly on improvisation and chance.
